Today started off a nice and sunny Sunday. We went to the store for Grocery's and to the PetSmart store for dog food. Came home and feed the horses since it was 11:35am or so. While I was out at the barn I heard someone skid then and impact of some kind. I looked across the road and there was a lot of dust from a truck who went off the road and rolled. Second time in two week I seen someone skid off that road! This one was bad though.. So I start running to my house to get the phone and get on the line with 911. While i am talking to emergency dispatch i go across the road to tell them how bad anyone is hurt. There was a 15 year old girl who got ejected from the truck. She had a terrible head injury with quit a bit of blood comming from her head and ear, it also looked as her back might have been broken since she was at an odd angle lying there. The boy who was her brother didn't have any marks and was trying to get her to respond to him. After a moment or two she came to and started to scream. I yelled and told them to not try and hold her down or put anykind of pressure on her body. She was attempting to get up and they said to tell her to not move. So after I hung up I squated down by the girl and tried calming her and told her not to move and that help was on it's way. I think she was in shock and just keep crying for her dad. The police officer showed up first then the boy's father. Finally the paramedics then the emt helicopters. That put a damper on the day for everyone. Puts a little perspective in your life and how fast it can be whiped out. I saved the number on my phone so I can give her parents a call next week and see if she is ok. I've been thinking of her all day now. I did go riding my horse tonight since I fell off yesterday and need to put more training in. I received this in email this evening so I thought it would suit for now. It's just a little Quote of thankfullness.
